I love Regular Show! It’s one of my favorite TV shows and, in my opinion, one of the best cartoons on TV right now. I figured I’d do a quick post about it so that I has something to put up on here. I’ve fallen behind on the show quite a bit so I’m limiting my top 5 episodes to the first three seasons (mainly because I have them on DVD). I love all the episodes so it was hard to narrow them down, but here are my top 5 picks:
This episode is about Mordecai, Rigby, Margaret, and Eileen going on a camping trip. We get to see Mordecai use his smooth moves on Margaret and we get some great scenes with Rigby and Eileen. Then the episode gets really weird out of nowhere. I won’t spoil the reveal, but it’s one that gives me a good laugh every time I see it.
This is the episode that gave us the doughnut song and taught us that double glazing isn’t safe for human consumption. Pops is a hilarious character and this one of the best Pops episodes I’ve seen. This one is also important because it has a big first for the series, but I won’t spoil what that is.
The park is hosting a children’s birthday party and it’s up to Mordecai and Rigby to set up the chairs. Rigby screws around while Mordecai tries to actually accomplish the task. I love the arcade games that they find in this episode, I would totally play Ball of Yarn. This episode has so many great laughs and I highly recommend it. Also, it’s probably for the best that the Destroyer of Worlds gets rid of the “special entertainment.”
Who knew that a bunch of baby ducks could be so cool? The stuff they learn from Rigby is funny enough, but the best part is how the episode ends. I can’t say I ever saw that coming. This episode also added “baby duck milk waterfall” to my vocabulary. I almost chose this one as my number one pick but there was another episode that deserved that spot.
I had to choose The Power as my favorite episode of the first three seasons. It’s not only the first episode of the series but it’s also the first one I ever watched. I didn’t get into the show right away but when I finally decided to watch an episode, this was the one that happened to be on. I’ve quoted this episode more times than I can count and it’s always the first one I show to people who haven’t watched Regular Show before. It’s a great introduction to the characters and the structure of the series.
I hope you enjoyed my Top 5 Regular Show episodes! If you haven’t checked the series out yet, I highly recommend that you do. It’s got great characters and the bizarre situations that they find themselves in each episode will keep you laughing.
