Director: Richard Donner

My Thoughts:

Scrooged might just be my favorite version of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Bill Murray is one of my favorite actors and has been in a lot of my favorite movies. Here he plays Frank Cross, a successful TV executive that doesn’t care much for Christmas. He insists on making the network’s staff work on Christmas to put on a live version of A Christmas Carol in order to get huge ratings. Frank is just horrible, much worse than the original Scrooge in my opinion (the man suggests stapling antlers to mice). The ghosts of Christmas past, present and future are all amazing in this too. The Ghost of Christmas Past is a psychotic taxi driver, the Ghost of Christmas Present insists on beating the shit out of Frank and the Ghost of Christmas Future is just horrifying. Present is my favorite ghost in this, Carol Kane is hilarious and I love how she keeps beating Frank up. Bobcat Goldthwait is even in this! All of the actors are great in this movie and Bill Murray is hilarious as always. Scrooged should be on everyone’s watch list every Christmas. That’s it for the last Trailer Tuesday of the year! I hope those of you that have read my blog have enjoyed my posts and I hope you continue to read my ramblings next year. Put a little love in your heart and have a very Merry Christmas!
