My Thoughts on Star Wars: The Force Awakens

star_wars_the_force_awakens_theatrical_poster

I’m going to start this post with a warning: there will be major spoilers in my review. If you haven’t seen The Force Awakens yet, go see it! It was simply amazing! I was absolutely satisfied as a Star Wars fan and I can not wait until Episode VII! With that said, I won’t be posting my review here. To respect those who may not have seen the film yet and are still trying to avoid spoilers, I’m going to link to hidden pages on my blog where the review will be. I may eventually update it after a while to be regular posts.

Help Support an Animation Legend

If you don’t know who Don Bluth and Gary Goldman are, I can guarantee you probably know some of their work. An American TailThe Land Before TimeAll Dogs Go To Heaven, and The Secret of NIMH are just a few of the movies that Don and Gary have worked on. They also created the hugely popular arcade game Dragon’s Lair. Dragon’s Lair is what I’m here to talk about. Don Bluth has started an Indiegogo campaign to fund a pitch presentation video for Dragon’s Lair: The Movie! A movie based on Dragon’s lair has been long requested by fans and now it could become a reality with a little help. I grew up watching Don Bluth films (Anastasia and All Dogs Go To Heaven being two of my favorites) and when I found out about the Dragon’s Lair project, I decided to contribute to it. To me, it’s worth giving a little to support classic animation and a legend like Bluth. There are also some really cool perks for contributing, like signed posters, digital books, and tutorials from Don Bluth. I’ll post the link to the campain at the end of the post if you’d like to learn more about the project. I’ve never played Dragon’s Lair and I honestly don’t know it that well. My support comes from a love of animation and being a fan of Don and Gary’s work. Check out their Indiegogo page and show your support. That’s all I’ve got for now, see ya next time!

Trailer Tuesday Announcement

So I decided to start a regular segment thing on here. Every Tuesday (as long as I have a movie to talk about) I’ll do a post about the trailer for an upcoming movie. If I can’t find anything new that I want to spotlight then I may talk about old trailers for movies I like. I have ideas for the next few weeks and I’m actually going to start writing up a blog schedule for myself so that I can try to get on track to work on this thing regularly (generally an empty promise, I know). Anyone out that who reads my blog regularly (if you exist) or that has checked out my blog will know that I’ve been terrible at keeping up with posts or actually posting things that I’ve mentioned to be upcoming in other posts. I really want to work on this blog but I’m just terrible at motivating myself (anyone reading this, feel free to comment and set a fire under me to get writing!). I’m hoping that having a written schedule that fits in with my actual works schedule will help. It will make it feel more important. So for the next three weeks at least, I have trailers to talk about. I’m currently writing them up to schedule, so be assured that this will actually happen lol. Also, if anyone who checks this out knows of an upcoming movie that I may not have heard of, let me know and I’ll check it out. That’s all I’ve got for now, see ya next time!

Back to the Future Trilogy 30th Anniversary Theatrical Re-release (October 21, 2015)

I’m about to see some serious shit!

Written between Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III:

So I just sat through the first two BTTF movies and it was amazing seeing them on the big screen! Sidenote: theaters must make a killing on concessions during marathons like this, I’ve watched a lot of people leave between movies and come back with more. I can only imagine how it will be during the Star Wars event (sadly my theater isn’t getting that one). I’m a little tired but I’m ready for Part III, which should be starting soon. I’m excited to see what they play before this one, the stuff between 1 and 2 was hilarious. There was a hover board commercial and an amazing trailer for Jaws 19. I hope they are included as bonus features in my collector’s set, which arrived today. I haven’t gotten a chance to really go through it yet. I can’t think of anything else to say right now, I just needed something to do between movies. It’s not very easy typing this on my phone either. The last movie is about to start so I’ll update this post later. See ya soon!Read More »
